Copyright & Intellectual Property
This page explains what is Conjureit’s own work, which materials come from others, and the licences that apply to them.
What belongs to Conjureit
Unless a credit or licence says otherwise, the following are Conjureit’s work and are protected by copyright: the Conjureit name, logo and visual identity; the design and code of this website; and the course text, scenes, illustrations and interactive code made for Conjureit.
The footer notice “© Conjureit. All rights reserved.” refers to this material only. It does not claim ownership of anything listed below as third-party material, and a notice alone doesn’t stop anyone from copying; the protection comes from copyright law and the licences that apply.
Ideas, facts, methods, algorithms and well-known teaching examples aren’t owned by anyone, and we don’t claim them. What is protected is the way we have expressed and built them.
To confirm before launch: that every course listed on the site as Conjureit’s own work was created for Conjureit or is used with the rights holder’s permission, and the name of the rights holder.
The Conjureit name and logo identify this site. Please don’t use them in a way that suggests we made, sponsor or endorse something we didn’t.
Third-party materials
Some materials on the site belong to others and are used under their licences. Those licences, not our notice, set what you may do with them.
- Fonts. Bricolage Grotesque, Atkinson Hyperlegible and JetBrains Mono are used under the SIL Open Font License 1.1. The licence texts are published with the fonts: Bricolage Grotesque, Atkinson Hyperlegible; each course also publishes the licences of the fonts it uses, as listed in its credits.
- Photographs. Photographs taken by others are credited in the course that uses them, with their source, licence and any changes made. For example, the robin photograph in AI, explored is “European robin on a branch” by Alexis Lours, used under Creative Commons Attribution 2.0 (CC BY 2.0); our cropped version is shared under the same licence.
- AI-generated pictures. Some course pictures were generated with an AI image model (Stable Diffusion XL), and the courses say which ones. We don’t claim more rights in these pictures than the law gives, and their use follows the model’s licence.
- Names and trademarks of other companies or products mentioned in the courses belong to their owners. Mentioning them doesn’t mean they are connected to Conjureit.
Full credits for each course: AI, explored credits.
Using our material
You may view and use Conjureit for your own learning, as described in the Terms of Use. For anything else, such as republishing, translating, adapting or using material commercially, please ask us first. Third-party materials can be reused under their own licences.
If you think something infringes your rights
If you believe material on Conjureit uses your work without permission, or is credited wrongly, please tell us which page and which material, and why. We’ll look into it promptly and correct or remove it where that’s right.
To confirm before launch: a contact address for copyright questions and takedown requests, and the name of the rights holder behind “Conjureit” (a person or an organisation).
